Tale book discussions begin tonight

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

There has been a late addition to the Tale for Three Counties book discussion schedule.

The first gathering to discuss Hillary Jordan’s novel “Mudbound” is actually scheduled for 7 tonight at Pike Library, 65 Main St., Pike.
*

This is the first of 18 book discussions scheduled in Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties.

The community reading project encourages readers to pick up and read the same book, discuss it, then meet the author at a series of talks and booksigings in March.

Jordan’s “Mudbound” tells the stories of two families living in the Missiissippi delta after World War II. The families — one black, one white — face both social and racial injustices.

With bad weather forecast tonight, it is a good idea to call ahead about the book discussion. Call the Pike Library at (585) 493-5900.
